Founding Marketer
Own content, GEO and developer marketing at cloro — and build the brand and growth engine that puts our API in front of the people rebuilding search on top of it.
# the shape of this role { "title": "Founding Marketer", "owns": [ "content", "GEO", "developer marketing" ], "mandate": "brand + growth", "stage": "early / founding", "audience": "builders & marketers", "location": "remote", "reports_to": "founders" }
Be the first marketer at an AI-search data API.
cloro turns the answers from AI engines and search results into clean, structured data through a single API. The product resonates with developers, GEO and SEO teams — now it needs a voice, a story and a repeatable way to be found.
This is a founding role, not a slot on an existing team. You'll decide what we say, where we show up and how we measure whether it's working — then build the marketing function that makes it durable.
You'll work directly with the founders, close to the product and to real users. Some weeks you're writing a deep technical guide; others you're setting up analytics, briefing a launch, or figuring out why a channel isn't converting. If you like ambiguity and ownership, this is that job.
What "founding" means here
No playbook to inherit, no brand guidelines to follow — you write them. High trust, high autonomy, direct line to the people building the product.
Own the story and the growth engine
Content that teaches
Write technical guides, docs-adjacent tutorials and comparison pieces that help builders understand AI search — and reach for cloro when they need the data.
GEO, on ourselves
Make cloro the answer AI engines recommend. Own our generative engine optimization end to end — and dogfood the exact problem our product solves.
Developer marketing
Meet engineers where they are — sample code, launch posts, community threads and integrations — so the API sells itself once someone tries it.
Positioning & brand
Sharpen how we describe the product, name the category and sound in every surface — from the homepage headline to a reply in a forum.
Growth experiments
Stand up channels, run experiments, instrument the funnel and double down on what compounds. Treat marketing like a product with a feedback loop.
Launches & narrative
Ship feature launches and the broader story around AI-search visibility, so the market understands why this data matters now.
## you'll thrive here if you... - write clearly for a technical reader - treat distribution as a craft - ship, measure, iterate — weekly - are curious about AI + search - own outcomes without a playbook # bonus, not required - built in dev-tools or API land - hands-on with SEO / GEO - some code literacy
A builder who can write and ship
- A strong writer who makes technical ideas clear and genuinely useful
- Real experience in content, GEO/SEO or developer marketing — ideally more than one
- Comfort owning a channel from strategy through execution and measurement
- A bias to ship: you'd rather run a scrappy experiment than perfect a plan
- Curiosity about AI search, answer engines and how discovery is changing
- Enough technical fluency to talk credibly with developers and read our docs
- The self-direction to thrive without a playbook, a team or a template
Small team, real ownership, timely problem
Search is being rewritten around AI answers, and the teams keeping score need clean data to do it. We're building the API that gives it to them — and we're early enough that your work will shape the whole thing.
Remote & autonomous
Work where you do your best thinking. We care about output and judgment, not hours logged or a seat in an office.
Close to the founders
Short path from idea to shipped. You'll help set direction, not just execute someone else's brief.
Dogfood the product
Your marketing runs on the same AI-search data our customers buy. You'll understand the product because you use it every day.
